Let’s go Fishing
It doesn’t matter if you’re fishing off our docks, inshore at Chassahowitzka Bay or 30 miles offshore, our location on Florida’s Nature Coast means an excellent day on the water. Use one of our free canoes or rent a motorboat and spend the day catching sea trout, redfish, tarpon, snook, sheepshead and mullet. Offshore you’ll find cobia, mackerel, flounder, snapper, grouper and shark. We work with experienced guides that can take you to the local hotspots. Guided services run about $375/day per boat for 4 people. Grab a pole and let’s go.
Shooting & Hunting at Chaz
Shooters and hunters are welcome at Chaz Lodge. We have a 25-yard outdoor range near the lodge where you can do some target shooting or sight in your rifle. For hunting, we can help you make arrangements for a license and permits and provide transportation to the Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management Area. At almost 34,000 acres it has plenty of room for your hunt. Game includes whitetail deer, hogs, turkey and small game and waterfowl. On non-hunting days be sure to try our fine inshore fishing or just spend the day enjoying Chaz Lodge.
Explore by Kayak and Canoe
Paddling the ‘Chaz is a Florida favorite and should be on the short list for every kayak and canoe enthusiast. From our docks it is easy to access several nearby springs, including Potter, Ruth and Salt Springs. Two miles up-river toward the campground is Baird Creek, Blue Springs and The Crack. From the water you’re sure to spot hundreds of wading birds, a few gators, dolphin and maybe manatee and deer. When you are on the main river be sure to paddle on one side or the other as motorboats need to stay in the center channel.
